the sky is falling (over my dog's head)

ok, we just passed the fourth of july, big ass fireworks here in vegas..
the thing is that my dog is really scared of the explosions (to the point of trying to climb over me scooby doo style) someone told me today that they actually think the sky is falling when something explodes that's why some of them are so scared...
so... I'm looking at my dog eyes and I have absolutely no idea what's going on in his head, and that makes me think..
how can someone know what the fuck a dog can think of at any moment??
the only thing I'm 100% sure is that they're hungry, and they want my socks for some reason.
it's about time someone invents a 2-way dog translator damn it!!
